After two years at Corona (KAJO) it was time to move. Corona is a great little airport, but the hangar rent increases and lack of security, not to mention the 91 freeway traffic, convinced me to get on the waiting list for a hangar at Fullerton (KFUL). After about eight months on the list I received a call that they had a hangar available.

My son and I moved the shelving in the morning and met a couple of our hangar neighbors. After some lunch my wife drove me back out to Corona so I could fly the plane over. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Southern California with the temperature hovering right around 80° (how does that sound for all you folks up north?

With the plane’s annual inspection and a busy December/January schedule it had been six weeks since the last time I flew, longer than any point since I took my first flight in May 2016. I took off on 7 and made a right downwind departure. Ten miles east of the airport I called up Fullerton tower and turned on final for runway 24 about seven miles out. The plane ran great and I squeaked it in for a nice landing about ten minutes after taking off.
