Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany by Donald L Miller is a masterpiece of WWII Aviation History. Extensively researched Miller complies a detailed account of not only what it was like for the Bomber Boys flying at 25,000′, but the strategies on the ground and the often misguided ideas of what would and would not have an impact on the German war machine.
If you are looking for a story telling narrative you might be disappointed. This often reads more like a histoy book than story telling hour, but for me I was engaged for the entire 24 hours and 19 minutes that makes up the audio book. If you have ever wondered about the differences in the stratgies of RAF Bomber Command ad the USAAF Bomber Command, why we targeted certain aspects of the German military industrial complex, and the actual impact on the ground, give this one a chance.
